Ayodhya Amrit Bharat Train
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today unfurl the green flag for the new Amrit Bharat train in Ayodhya. PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the revamped Ayodhya Dham railway station. The new Amrit Bharat trains and Vande Bharat trains will be flagged off with the green signal.
Photos from inside the new Amrit Bharat train have been revealed. The country’s first Amrit Bharat Train will depart from Ayodhya to Delhi today. Designed on the lines of Vande Bharat Train, this is the country’s first pull-push train with two engines. The second engine will be placed behind the last coach of the train.
Both engines will provide speed to the train. The front engine will pull the train, while the rear engine will push it. The train will run at a speed of 130 km/h. Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnav provided this information at the inauguration of the New Delhi Railway Station on Monday. The Rail Minister mentioned that trains of this type will operate on all routes across the country, with 20 to 30 Amrit Bharat trains manufactured every month.
According to Ashwini Vaishnav, two types of technology are used in railways worldwide. The first is Distributed Power, where motors are installed in every other and third coach, and electricity comes from above. Vande Bharat Train is based on this technology. The second technology is Pull and Push, where one engine is placed at the front to pull the train, and another engine is placed at the rear to push the train.
Special attention has been given to amenities. Both types of trains are being built in the country by its engineers. Amrit Bharat Train is built using Distributed Power, and Vande Bharat Train is built using Pull-Push technology. Amrit Bharat Train is a non-AC train, while Vande Bharat Train is a fully AC train. The coaches of the train are entirely covered with glass. Moreover, both sides of the train have improved engines.
An air conditioner is installed in the driver’s cabin to ensure smooth operation. The train has been equipped with buffers to prevent collisions between two trains. Vibration in the driver’s cabin has also been minimized to avoid discomfort. For passengers’ convenience, there are comfortable seats and charging points. The general coach also has cushioned seats on the upper side, making the journey comfortable for passengers.
No jerks, the train will pick up speed quickly.
The Rail Minister mentioned that trains usually accelerate slowly and gradually during operation, causing jerks many times. However, with the Pull-Push technology, the train’s acceleration is higher, and jerks are reduced. Additionally, the train will quickly pick up speed, saving time. If this train travels from Delhi to Kolkata, it will save approximately two hours.
Water consumption in its toilets will be minimal. He mentioned that significant changes have been made in the train’s design. Semi-permanent couplers have been installed between two coaches in Amrit Bharat Train so that there are no jerks when the train starts or stops.
Through semi-permanent couplers, two coaches of the train are permanently connected to each other, and they cannot be separated. Previous trains had CBC couplers that allowed separating the coaches.
Affordable tickets and tickets made on the basis of free passes will not be accepted.
According to the railway circular, concessional tickets and tickets made on the basis of free passes will not be accepted in these trains, which have not been reimbursed. It is stated in the circular, “The rules related to special rights passes for railway employees, PTOS (Special Rights Ticket Orders), and duty passes will be the same as for mail/express trains.”
It is stated, “Booking against the pass issued to MPs, railway travel coupon (TRS) issued to MLAs/Members of Legislative Council, and booking for freedom fighters will be allowed as their full reimbursement is done.” The Railway Board has asked the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to make necessary changes in the software to show Amrit Bharat trains and their fares.
