Iran Missile Attack on Israel

After Iran’s missile attack on Israel, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond both defensively and aggressively. Netanyahu posted a video on his official account where he stated that they are prepared for both defensive and offensive measures in any situation. He emphasized that Israel is strong, the IDF is strong, and the people are strong.

Iran conducted its first direct attack on Israeli territory on Saturday night, launching missiles and escalating tensions significantly. According to Reuters, late at night in Israel, sirens suddenly began blaring, followed by heavy rumbling and explosions. However, there have been no immediate reports of casualties. Israel stated that Iran had launched more than 100 drones.

He stated that Israel has been preparing for direct attacks by Iran for years. He reassured that their defensive systems are in place. In a video posted by the Israeli PMO, he reiterated their readiness for both defensive and offensive actions. He emphasized Israel’s strength, stating, “The state of Israel is strong, the IDF is strong, and the people are strong.”

We will defend ourselves against any threat

Netanyahu declared. He praised the support of the United States, as well as Britain, France, and several other countries. Netanyahu reiterated that whoever harms them will be harmed in return. Israel will defend itself against any threat with unwavering determination. He also addressed the people of Israel, expressing confidence in standing together with God’s help and emerging victorious against all enemies.

Iran’s Attack Reasoning

Following the airstrikes on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, where several Iranian military officers, including a senior general, were killed, Iran has declared retaliation against Israel. Iran holds Israel responsible for the attack. Subsequently, there have been movements and reports of missile launches and armed drones in Iran.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed strong condemnation of the large-scale attack by Iran on Israel. He tweeted, “I strongly condemn the serious escalation caused by Iran’s large-scale attack on Israel. I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities by these enemies. Neither the region nor the world can tolerate another war.”

German Chancellor’s Support for Israel

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz tweeted that the aerial attack by Iran on Israeli territory on Saturday night is unacceptable and cannot be justified in any way. He expressed solidarity with Israel and stated that they will now discuss every aspect with their allies.

Israeli Ambassador’s Letter to the President of the Security Council: Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, posted on Twitter that he has sent an urgent letter to the President of the Security Council. He demanded an immediate Security Council meeting and urged the Council to unequivocally condemn Iran’s attack on Israel and declare the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. He emphasized that Iran’s attack poses a significant threat to world peace and security, expressing hope that the Security Council will take action against Iran in every possible way.
