Yamaha RX100 Set for a Comeback In India New Features, Specifications, and Launch Details

Yamaha RX100 Set for a Comeback

In the Indian market, the Yamaha RX100, which once ruled hearts in the 80s and 90s, is back in the limelight. The company is gearing up to reintroduce this bike once again, possibly with advanced features and a powerful engine. The original RX100 had a 98.2cc two-stroke engine. The new variant might come with a larger, four-stroke engine, possibly around 225.9cc, complying with BS6 emission norms, and capable of delivering a maximum power of 20 bhp.

In June 2023, Yamaha India’s chairman, Eshin Chihana, mentioned that the RX100 motorcycle holds special significance for India. However, due to the new RDE regulations, it should have at least a 200cc engine. We don’t want to bring back the RX100 until we are confident about its excellent performance. With the current lineup, 155cc is not sufficient. The company hasn’t made its launch plans clear.

Features and Specifications of Yamaha RX100:

With changes in the engine, Yamaha RX100 can maintain its name, but ‘100’ might be dropped, and we might see details about the new engine, RX250. Hopefully, some classic design elements will also be included to maintain its popularity. It could feature several advanced features like fuel injection, ABS, and a fully digital instrument console.

The price of Yamaha RX100 hasn’t been revealed yet. Whether it will come with a 100cc engine or not, the company hasn’t clarified everything. Yamaha hasn’t mentioned when the new RX100 will be launched in India. However, there are speculations that it might hit the roads in 2024. Among the most reasonably priced Yamaha motorcycles in the country, the price of this bike could be around 1.25 to 1.50 lakh rupees.
