Toyota Taisor Latest SUV Launch In India

Under the partnership between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, another new car has hit the market, named the Toyota Taisor. Essentially, the Taisor is Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza. Its basic body structure, features, and engine resemble that of the Brezza. In the Indian market, it will compete with cars like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Creta, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.

Currently, it’s the smallest and most affordable SUV in Toyota’s portfolio. The car has undergone some light cosmetic updates to differentiate it from the Brezza. It comes with both petrol and CNG fuel options. Let’s explore more details about this SUV.

Design of Toyota Taisor

Most of the parts of this car resemble those of the Brezza. You can notice some changes in the bumpers and front grille. The car’s side profile is quite similar to the Brezza. At the back, redesigned tail lamps are installed, and the light bar spans the entire width. The Taisor is available in 5 color options: white, silver, red, orange, and grey. It sports an attractive front grille, chrome highlights on the exterior, and LED lamps at the rear. Additionally, it comes with 16-inch alloy wheels with a unique style different from the Brezza.

Features of Toyota Taisor

Inside the car, you’ll find dual-tone black-brown seats. Some premium features include smartwatch connectivity, wireless charger, auto climate control, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, turn navigation with head-up display, and wireless charger. For enhanced safety, features like a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and electronic stability program are provided.

Engine of Toyota Taisor

Customers have the option to choose between two engines with the Toyota Taisor. One is a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, and the other is a 1.2-liter petrol engine. Besides petrol, there’s also an option for CNG fuel.

The 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine generates 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. It comes with options for a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The other engine option is a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, available with a 5-speed manual, 5-speed automatic, and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.2-liter engine also comes with a CNG fuel option.

Price of Toyota Taisor

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is priced starting from Rs. 7.74 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 13.04 lakhs. The price for its CNG variant is Rs. 8.72 lakhs. These prices are as per the ex-showroom rates.

It’s worth mentioning that Toyota has a lineup of 12 cars in the Indian market, including Glanza, Urban Cruiser Taisor, Rumion, Urban Cruiser Highrider, Innova Crysta, Innova Highcross, Fortuner, Hilux, Legend, Camry, Velfire, and Land Cruiser.
