Tata Punch EV Features
In the Punch EV Smart model, you’ll find features such as LED headlamps, a smart digital instrument cluster, multi-mode regen, electronic stability program, and six airbags for enhanced safety. Meanwhile, the Adventure model includes cruise control, front LED fog lamps, cornering function, a 17.78 cm Harman infotainment system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and a jeweled control knob. An optional sunroof variant is also available.
The Empowered model comes with R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, an air purifier, auto-fold ORVM, a 17.78 cm digital cockpit, SOS function, a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system, dual-tone body color, and a sunroof option. The Punch EV Empowered+ offers even more luxury features, including leather seats, a 360-degree surround-view system, blind-spot mirror, ventilated front seats, Ark.EV app suite, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 26 cm impressive digital cockpit.
Tata Punch EV Range and Power
The electric Punch provides a range of 300 to 600 kilometers on a full charge. The platform supports on-board chargers ranging from 7.2kW to 11kW for AC charging and a 150kW charger for DC fast charging. Tata claims that Punch EV can provide a range of up to 100 km in just 10 minutes of fast charging.
Tata Punch Safety and Price
Built on the latest architecture, Tata Punch EV adheres to global NCAP and India NCAP safety protocols. The car will feature ADAS level 2 safety features, and it has received a 5-star safety rating in local NCAP crash tests. The cabin space and storage are impressive. Regarding the price, Tata Motors has shared only the details of Punch EV, and while bookings have started, the company has not disclosed the pricing details yet.
Two Variants of Tata Punch EV
Tata Punch EV is available in two variants – Standard and Long Range. The Standard variant is expected to have a 25kWh battery pack, while the Long Range variant may come with a 35kWh battery pack. The Standard variant features only a 3.3kW AC charger, while the Long Range variant offers a 7.2kW AC charger and 150kW DC fast charging.
Tata Punch EV: Exterior Design
The front of the car features a full-width LED light bar and a split headlamp setup, reminiscent of the Nexon EV. Punch EV is the first Tata car with a charging socket in the front. Below is a completely redesigned bumper.
In the rear, there’s a Y-shaped brake light setup, a roof spoiler, and a dual-tone bumper design. The car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on all four wheels. Interestingly, Punch EV is Tata’s first EV with a frunk (front trunk) for additional storage.
New Punch EV with 16-inch Alloy Wheels
According to information, Punch EV will sport 16-inch alloy wheels for a stylish look. Keeping the new generation in mind, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is included. The car will also feature a digital instrument cluster. Tata Motors aims to launch this as its first electric car in 2024 and the company’s fourth electric car overall. Punch EV has a distinctive grille design, separate from the traditional Punch petrol model. The bumper has been made more stylish, resembling the appearance of the new Nexon EV.
Car with 25 kWh and 35 kWh Battery Setup
Currently, the company has not shared much information about the new Tata Punch EV. The car will feature two battery setups – 25 kWh and 35 kWh. Charging options include a 3.3 kW AC charger, a 7.2 kW AC charger, and a fast charger. The front of the car will feature a wide light bar, giving it a unique look in this segment. It includes a split headlamp setup and a Y-shaped brake light setup. Additionally, the car will come with a roof-mounted spoiler and a more boxy bumper. The car will feature airbags, comfortable suspension, ABS, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX mounts on the rear seats. The car’s starting price may be offered at ₹10-13 lakh (ex-showroom).
Fourth Electric Car in Tata’s Portfolio
As India’s smallest electric SUV, Tata Punch EV is the fourth electric car in Tata’s portfolio. It is Tata’s second electric SUV after Nexon. This is Tata’s first model developed on the Generation 2 EV architecture.
