Meanwhile, neighboring country Japan also issued a tsunami alert following the strong tremors of the earthquake. Japan’s Meteorological Agency has issued warnings of tsunami waves up to 3 meters (10 feet) high. After the strong earthquake, Japan does not want to take any risks. Taiwan’s Earthquakes from the ‘Ring of Fire’

Taiwan is located near the ‘Ring of Fire’ in the Pacific Ocean. Earthquake tremors are always felt in this area. The ‘Ring of Fire’ starts from the shores of the Pacific Ocean and extends to the country of Chile in South America. Because of this, powerful earthquake tremors are always felt from Indonesia to Chile. Taiwan is also not immune to earthquakes. In 2018, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Hualien City, killing 17 people and injuring 300 others. In the earthquake of 1999, 2,400 people were killed.
