Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail: The World’s Most Expensive Car at $31 Million

Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the world’s most expensive car, the ‘Arcadia Droptail.’ Its price is a staggering 31 million dollars, which translates to approximately 257 crore rupees. Previously, Rolls-Royce’s La Roja Noir Droptail held the title of the world’s most expensive car, priced at 249.48 crore rupees.

The luxury car maker has derived the name from the Greek city of Arcadia, which means ‘heaven on earth.’ The attractive look and premium features of this ultra-customized car truly justify its name.

After two years of research, the car was assembled on the dashboard within five months.

The car’s most notable feature is the material used to craft it. Rolls-Royce has utilized 233 pieces of Santos Striped Green Sycamore hardwood, with 76 pieces installed on the rear deck, making it one of the finest woods used in any Rolls-Royce model.

Crafting the interior with this wood took more than 8,000 hours. Moreover, the dashboard features a bespoke clock designed by Rolls-Royce, considered the most intricate piece developed for any of the company’s cars so far. It took two years of research and five months to assemble the dashboard of the car.

Inspired by Formula 1 racing cars

The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail has been customized according to a customer’s desire, with delivery taking place during an event in Singapore. It is based on the company’s aluminum space-frame architecture (AOL platform) with a roadster body style, being the company’s first car with this design, inspired by Formula 1 racing cars.

Rolls-Royce’s coach-built designers have developed a natural duotone colorway to paint the luxury car. The main body color is solid white, incorporating aluminum and glass particles. Rolls-Royce experts have used aluminum particles for the bodywork, creating an attractive metallic finish.

At the front of the luxury car are mirror-finished exterior grills and 22-inch alloy wheels with the company’s signature floating RR logo. It comes in a 2-door, 2-seater configuration.

For performance, it features a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine, producing 593bhp power and 840Nm maximum torque. This engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5 seconds.
