Maruti Jimny December 2023 Deals: Exciting Discounts, Sales Targets, and Power-packed Features!
The five-door variant of Maruti Jimny made its debut in India in January this year, entering the market as a direct competitor to Mahindra Thar. Despite initial expectations, the off-road SUV didn’t receive the anticipated response in the months following its launch. Mahindra Thar managed to overshadow Jimny in the off-road vehicle segment.
In response to the lukewarm reception, Maruti Suzuki announced significant discounts on Maruti Jimny after Diwali, extending these offers until the end of the year. The impact of these discounts is evident, as the company hopes for an increase in sales. Shashank Srivastava, Maruti Suzuki’s Executive Director (Sales and Marketing), mentioned in an interview with Times Now that the company aims to achieve sales of 4,000 to 5,000 units of Jimny in December.
Maruti Suzuki’s strategic discounts aim to boost Maruti Jimny’s appeal and competitiveness in the off-road vehicle market. It will be interesting to see how the SUV performs against its competitors in the coming months.

December Sales Target for Maruti Jimny
When Maruti Jimny SUV was initially launched, it garnered significant demand, with bookings exceeding 43,000 in no time. However, as demand started to decline, Maruti Suzuki introduced offers to incentivize sales by the end of the year. Since then, there has been a noticeable resurgence in demand, with increasing numbers of Jimny buyers at Nexa showrooms towards the end of the year. Dealers are capitalizing on this momentum to clear existing stock, and the company’s owner has expressed satisfaction with the sales figures.
Shashank Srivastava, Maruti Suzuki’s Executive Director (Sales and Marketing), sharing insights on buying patterns, stated, “We have observed a 55% demand for the automatic version and 45% for the manual version of the Jimny. However, due to differences in production, we are facing challenges in supplying the automatic transmission. As a result, we are focusing on increasing production of the manual transmission model.”
Maruti Suzuki has been consistently offering attractive discounts and various benefits on Jimny over the past few months. During Diwali, a discount of around ₹1 lakh was provided on this car. For a limited time, the discount on the base variant has been increased, bringing it down by nearly ₹2 lakhs. Consequently, the current price of the Zeta MT variant has dropped from ₹12.74 lakhs to ₹10.74 lakhs (ex-showroom).
This substantial discount makes the Jimny a much more affordable option, now priced ₹4 lakhs less than the entry-level petrol variant of the Thar 4WD MT. Maruti Suzuki’s strategic pricing and discount approach aim to make Jimny a more attractive and competitive option in the market, potentially driving higher sales and capturing a significant share in the SUV segment.
