First-time Qualification
It’s a remarkable achievement in Indian Table Tennis history because it’s the first time the country will participate in the team competition after being included in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Both Indian teams missed out on Olympic tickets due to their recent losses in the ITTF World Team Championship pre-quarterfinals. The men’s team had to face a 0-3 defeat against South Korea, while the women’s team encountered a 1-3 loss against Chinese Taipei.
