Gyanvapi Case: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has discovered evidence of a grand Hindu temple in the Gyanvapi complex by dismantling its structure and finding proof of mosque construction. The survey has gathered Hindu deities’ sculptures, broken religious symbols, decorative bricks, divine couples, and remnants of the threshold, among other pieces of evidence.

All 250 items have been deposited in the treasury under the district magistrate’s supervision as evidence. A list of these items has also been submitted in the district court. The materials stored in the treasury serve as crucial evidence for the Hindu side, as mentioned in the ASI survey report.

Damaged sculptures, symbols, shapes, pieces of doors, pots, elephants, horses, lotus flowers, and other items were found during the Gyanvapi complex survey. These were handed over to the district magistrate on November 6, 2023. If necessary, the district magistrate will present all these items in the district court based on the court’s orders.

On the application requesting regular darshan (sighting) of Shringar Gauri in Gyanvapi, Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh’s court issued an order on September 14, 2023. The order stated that any materials related to Hinduism and worship practices found during the ASI survey would be handed over to the district magistrate or the officer appointed by them. The designated officer will secure these materials and present them whenever the court demands. A list of materials handed over in custody will be submitted to both the court and the district magistrate.

Gyanvapi is a large Hindu temple, much like Ayodhya, the structure of the temple was found before the mosque.

In fact, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) released its survey report on the Gyanvapi complex on Wednesday. According to the ASI survey report, Gyanvapi was a large Hindu temple. During the survey, evidence related to the temple was found in 32 places. The report provided by the survey is extensive, spanning 839 pages.

The western wall is a part of the Hindu temple, easily identifiable by the pillars belonging to the temple. It has been reused. Inscriptions in Devanagari, Grantha, Telugu, and Kannada languages have also been found. Inscriptions of Janardan, Rudra, and Vishweshwar are also present. A place is mentioned as Mahamukti Mandap, which is significant. A broken stone was found during the survey.

According to the ASI, the temple was demolished in the 17th century. The possible date for this is September 2, 1969. The pillars of the temple were used to build the mosque. Sculptures of Hindu deities were found in the basement. Like Ayodhya, the structure of the temple was found before the mosque.

The Hindu side will now request the Supreme Court to unseal Gyanvapi based on the ASI survey. In the case, the female advocate of the Hindu side stated that the truth has been revealed. Now a request will be made to the court for permission to worship. The survey has brought the truth to light. It was revealed that the temple of Vishweshwar was destroyed, and then it was turned into a mosque.

District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwas ordered the ASI survey report to be given to both Hindu and Muslim parties on Wednesday. Copies of this have been received by the parties from the court on Thursday.

Following this, Supreme Court senior advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, on behalf of the Hindu side, spoke to reporters and stated that the survey has proven that Gyanvapi was a large Hindu temple. It was destroyed, and later it was given the form of a mosque. Now a request will be made for the survey to unseal.

The claim of the Hindu side in the report has been proven true. Earlier, the district judge’s court had said that it would be appropriate to give the survey report to the parties in the interest of justice. Objections can be filed against the survey report. It is not possible to file objections without making the report available.

In fact, apart from unsealing, the ASI filed the survey report in the district judge’s court on December 18, 2023. Sita Sahu, Rekha Pathak, Manju Vyas, and Laxmi Devi had requested the delivery of the survey report on behalf of the plaintiffs. The women said that this is a matter of public interest. It is being kept secret by making it confidential.”

On July 21, 2023, the court ordered a survey, and the report was made public on January 25, 2024.

According to information, District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh instructed the ASI to submit the survey report by August 4 in a seven-page order on July 21, 2023. The survey began on July 24, but the same day the Supreme Court imposed a stay. Later, the case went to the Allahabad High Court, and the survey resumed on August 4, 2023.

The Maan Shringaar Gauri case was filed in 2021.

In the course of the hearing of the Maan Shringaar Gauri case, the district court had ordered the ASI survey of the premises, excluding the sealing of Gyanvapi. The Maan Shringaar Gauri case was filed in the Senior Divisional Court by Rakhi Singh, Seeta Sahu, Rekha Pathak, Manju Vyas, and Lakshmi Devi on August 17, 2021.

Following the court’s order, a survey was conducted in Gyanvapi on May 6-7, 2022, under the leadership of a lawyer commissioner. Subsequently, from May 14 to 16, 2022, three lawyer commissioners conducted a survey of the Gyanvapi premises. On May 16, 2022, the claim of finding Lord Vishweshwar’s Shivling in the Vazhukhane of Gyanvapi was made. On the same day, based on the demand of the Hindu side, the court ordered the sealing of Vazhukhane.
