Diya Kumari takes Oath as Deputy CM of Rajasthan 2023.

In Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, today is the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister. Bhajan Lal Sharma will take the oath as the Chief Minister. Alongside, both Deputy Chief Ministers, Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa, will also be taking the oath, administered by Governor Kalyan Singh Mishra. It’s worth mentioning that Diya Kumari’s name has been in discussion since the announcement of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister’s names. The BJP had fielded her from the Vidhyadhar Nagar Assembly seat in Jaipur this time. In 2013, she contested elections from the Sawai Madhopur Assembly seat, marking the beginning of her political journey, and she became a legislator for the first time. Later, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, she contested and won. This time, she was again fielded by the BJP for the legislative elections.

Diya Kumari takes Oath as Deputy CM

Diya Kumari is connected to a royal family in Rajasthan; her paternal grandparents were the last Maharaja and Maharani of Jaipur. After Independence, the principality was merged with India. In an interview given to a newspaper, she mentioned that the decision to enter politics was not sudden. She realized that she is now mature enough to be a part of the system. She also shared that her grandmother, Maharani Gayatri Devi, had a long political journey, and she considers her a role model in politics.

When asked about choosing politics, Diya mentioned that we often criticize the system. Many things bother us, but real change can only happen when we enter the system as informed citizens. Whether it’s the growing traffic issue, the city’s cleanliness, hospital shortages, or education issues, a conscious citizen should be part of the solution.

Diya Kumari, the new Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, is no less than an entrepreneur. She is associated with several business ventures in Rajasthan. She leads two schools, two trusts and museums, hotels, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). In 2019, she was chosen to serve as a member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority by the government.
