Article 370 Movie
Lately, there’s been a surge in Bollywood’s interest towards stories revolving around Kashmir and terrorism. So, when director Aditya Suhas Jambhale brings a film like ‘Article 370’, delving into the historic decisions concerning the nation and Kashmir, it begs the question: how credible can a film claiming to be based on true events really be? But it must be said that Aditya, as both producer and director, serves up this historical narrative with a thrilling twist, blending issues such as what, how, and why the events unfolded, with facts.
The Story of Article 370:
In essence, the film’s story revolves around the strategy to annul ‘Article 370’, beginning with the covert mission of Intelligence Officer Junie Haksar (Yami Gautam). Junie, without the permission of her senior Khawar (Arjun Raj), eliminates Commander Burhan Wani. Subsequently, violence and instability escalate in Kashmir. Junie becomes the scapegoat for this turmoil, leading to her transfer from Kashmir to Delhi, removing her from duty in the valley’s Special Intelligence.
In the national capital, the government clandestinely strategizes the annulment of ‘Article 370’, with PMO Secretary Rajeshwari Swaminathan (Priya Mani) conducting thorough research. Rajeshwari is well-versed with Kashmir’s situation and acknowledges Junie’s capabilities. Consequently, she appoints Junie to lead a special team under NIA for a special operation in Kashmir. As Delhi prepares for the annulment of Article 370 politically, the story progresses to a mission to establish peace amidst corrupt leaders and separatists in the valley. The film culminates on a note of peaceful annulment of Article 370.
Article 370 Movie Review:
Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale sets the tone of the film right from the first scene. The encounter scene with Burhan, crafted in a thriller style, ignites curiosity among the audience about what lies ahead. The first half of the film is filled with tension, making the narrative intriguing, although the second half loses its pace. Especially when the director takes cinematic liberty in the annulment of Article 370 Movie , it raises questions about credibility. The way documents related to this paragraph are explored creates doubts about its authenticity.
The focus of the story in the second half shifts to Prime Minister Arul Govil and Home Minister Kiran Karmakar. Although the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are not explicitly mentioned, you understand their significance. Despite being two hours and forty minutes long, the film, due to its secret operations, is kept in the thriller space.
The narrative of the film is presented in different chapters, which is interesting. While attempting to evoke a sense of patriotism, the film also emphasizes the need to annul Article 370. The background music of the film should have been more powerful and in line with the subject. However, technically, the film is strong. Songs are not forcibly inserted into the film, which is a good thing.
The performances of the actors prove to be the strongest aspect of the film, with Yami Gautam shining once again with her powerful acting. Her no-makeup look and the anger within her character make her performance special. Talented South actress Priyamani doesn’t fall short in acting compared to Yami. It’s a delight to see actors at the center of strong characters on screen. Vaibhav Tatwawaadi as Intelligence Officer Yash Chauhan, Raj Jutshi as the Kashmiri leader, Raj Arjun as Khawar, and Divya Seth as the Kashmiri leader Divya all deliver powerful performances. Amit Shah as Kiran Karmakar entertains with his unique style, while Arun Govil as PM Arun Govil does justice to his character.
So, that’s the scoop on ‘Article 370’ – a film that blends history with thriller, raising questions about reality and perception, all while delivering solid performances from its cast.
